Free Links At Qassia

Well, don’t ask me how to pronounce it but, it seems to be an interesting way to gain links back to your website. You can check out the site at Qassia

This does take some work though. First you need to take a subject, any subject and write a bit about it. This can be from several lines to a full page. Like many of these new social sites, people then vote as to whether is should be added to the index, either way you gain “Points”. With these points you promote any site you want. The better the article, the more point you make.

The best part of this is that you have full control of your link and link text, and by writing about something related to your link you get a highly relevant link to your site. If you haven’t tried this, it’s at least worth the few minutes it will take to get signed up and promote a link or two. Then you can site back and see if this new link to your site gets picked up and considered valuable to the search engines.

Rack up those social Networking Points

Well, we’ve all heard about social networking. Or at least you should have by now. :) While some are more or less just voting sites like stumble, There are a number of other types of Social networking sites that should get some attention.

One site that I recently started using is Squidoo. This is an interesting concept. First you create a lens on any topic you want, add some quality content. Then Start monitizing.

This site gives you tons of modules to help you sell products from eBay, Amazon and a host of other sites. Content is easy to add and you can make some interesting pages (of course with a link back to your own site)

A few of my lenses (pages) include a lens on a Classic Car Shows , my favorite vacation spot in Kauai , and I’ve even got a lens on my home town and the recreation of Northern California. Best of all it takes very little time, they’re almost fun to make, and I get paid by my clients to make them, so that they send traffic to their sites.

Of course the next step after creating your lens is getting traffic to it. Squidoo even helps you with that. Read on …

Why Use NoFollow in your Blogs?

One good way to get traffic to your website is by using the comments feature found with most Blogs. When you write well thought out comments on Blogs and add your URL to the “Website URL” box you give readers of your comment a way to read more of your ideas. This of course means writing useful comments knowing that spam will likely be quickly deleted.

One additional benefit that many BlogMasters like to give those that comment on their Blogs is that they remove the “NoFollow” attribute that is added to all comment URLs by default in most Blog software. By doing this they also allow their site to pass some PR to the sites of webmasters that choose to comment on posts in their Blog.

By hunting around you can find many Blogs that are no longer buying into the idea of using the “NoFollow” attribute. One that I recently stumbled on is a music site called The Digital Guitar. I’ll be using this site as an example to show how you can tell if a site is using the NoFollow or not. For an example first lets view one of the posts on this site, “Why Learn Music Theory?”. Monetize those wasted searches!

As you start building up in the SERPs (search Engine Result pages) you often start to notice that a large number of the people entering your site are not looking for what you have to sell. Sad to say but with most sites over 90% of the people leave without having bought product from the site. Seems a waste of all your hard earned traffic building!

This is one reason why most webmasters would benefit from adding a few affiliate products to their sites. You have the visitor, don’t let them leave empty handed just because what you have to sell isn’t what they thought they would find. There are thousands of products out there that might be a great compliment to what you have to offer. Finding the right products and learning how to add them to your site without distracting your visitors from your primary product can be difficult.

Search out some Quality Links!

Most webmasters know that getting quality sites to link to their website is vital in order to rank well in the search engines. With that in mind many webmasters write emails to beg for links or to find others to trade with, buy links, and even if they get desperate write some descent content to add to their site hoping other will link to it.

There is also the issue of what is considered a quality link. Most webmasters feel that .gov and .edu website have a greater weight with the search engines. Sometimes they feel this is because or the age of most of these types of site. Others feel that it is because not everyone can get these sites, they are only handed out to the more trusted institutions.

With a little searching you can generally find ways to get a link from this style of site without resorting to spamming the site. One site that is allowing certain categories of web sites to get one of these coveted .edu sites is the Web Site Promotion Blog at Adison University. While this is a new site, it still looks like a promising place to get a quality link.
