Search out some Quality Links!

Most webmasters know that getting quality sites to link to their website is vital in order to rank well in the search engines. With that in mind many webmasters write emails to beg for links or to find others to trade with, buy links, and even if they get desperate write some descent content to add to their site hoping other will link to it.

There is also the issue of what is considered a quality link. Most webmasters feel that .gov and .edu website have a greater weight with the search engines. Sometimes they feel this is because or the age of most of these types of site. Others feel that it is because not everyone can get these sites, they are only handed out to the more trusted institutions.

With a little searching you can generally find ways to get a link from this style of site without resorting to spamming the site. One site that is allowing certain categories of web sites to get one of these coveted .edu sites is the Web Site Promotion Blog at Adison University. While this is a new site, it still looks like a promising place to get a quality link.

Using CraigsList to promote your website.

With 5 billion page views per month (according to Wikipedia) and the ability to put your ad in anytime you want Craigslist provides an incredible opportunity to promote your website and MAKE SALES. This classifieds ad site allows you to post ads in selected cities based on categories, and can produce a huge amount of traffic to your site.

However it’s not just a matter of putting together some spammy ad and listing it in a hundred cities. Without a little foreknowledge all of your hard work will get “Flagged” or deleted off the list as fast as you can put them on followed by your IP getting banned.
