This new feature by Google is almost scary it is like Google will stop at nothing to achieve better search results…Check this out Google Trends, Google’s new toy, is supposed to give you more accurate results based on your search history, a sort of personality test based on searching…

It’s pretty amazing that Google has gotten so advanced at their art that they can simplify a human mind and predict what it wants…pretty amazing, I signed up and I’m looking forward to seeing how well it actually works…

Oh yeah, they also have this page where you can see what the rest of the world likes based on searches, probably the best world census…if not the only…

The fact that they’re “showing off” it’s not that scary.
After all Yahoo uses the web beacon for all their services.
And, you know, adding the MyWeb + acquisition of del.icio.us can tell them more about your mind, your interests and your non-interests. I’m not a fan of either of them, so don’t get me wrong when I’m saying “It’s only business as usual”.
And after all, nobody minds if a teacher is reading their mind during an exam or if the newspaper man give them the expected newspaper when they show up.

Pretty interesting take on this. If you’ve read “The Search” by John Battelle, you’ll recognise the term the database of intentions. Google is now allowing us to mine our own db of intentions.

Google has another toy: Google Trends. Really though, I could imagine situations where this could be bad. IE: porn. I only want porn at very specific times, but when I do… well, google that shit, you know? I don’t want…
