Happy Christmas From ThirdSquare.comFirst, we want to wish all our visitors a very happy Christmas Day from ThirdSquare.com!

Alright, you got your website all set up, the design looks slick, and you are ready for the flocks of visitors to arrive. Problem? No one is coming. The Internet is like a shopping mall, a very large and busy shopping mall. The chances that people will land on your website are very slim. That’s why you need to begin marketing your website.

How do you go about this? The simplest thing to do is to get your website out where people will see it. This must me done in a subtle manner, however.

Signatures in Forums, Comments In Blogs

Try to find forums or blogs that discuss similar topics as your website. Become a member and leave your link in the signature or for blogs leave a thoughtful comment.

Again, don’t leave comments or reply to threads with, “Great post!”, “haha Funny.” and so on. Forum and blog owners will recognize these comments as spam and delete them. If you leave thoughtful comments, or in forums discuss a topic maturely, over time people will resepect you and that respect can also spill over onto your website. Those interested in what you had to say, most likely want to see what your website has to say as well. That’s traffic.

Write Articles

Submit To Directories

There is a growing attitude that submitted to directories is not the way to go. Most of these directories offer free submissions, but often don’t yield any traffic. The only reason you would use this is if your site could be submitted to a high traffic directory.

What Not to Do

Pixel advertising though is not the way to go. There are tons of site’s out there that offer this often free service, but use caution or you will end up getting the bad end of a deal.

Do not spam forums or blogs. Do not use softwares or tools to do this or you will get ban from these sites and they will report you to Google which will eventually delist your website as a spammer.

If you follow these simple rules and guidelines you will successfully get your site promoted with confidence and it will give you a hefty ROI or return on your investment.

Have a Happy Merry Christmas Everyone!

I still use directories for getting specific link text pointing to your site. Sometime 10-20 low quality links with the right keywords in the text can do a god mob of moving you up in the SERPs.

Especially works with MSN.
